Telegram about message publishing and editing improvement

We’re happy to share a major improvement to the way you publish and edit your messages. Starting today, you can turn any message into a draft — just press Ctrl+Enter on any page. You will see a little pencil icon next to your draft messages in Chats and Calls tabs. If you use the official Telegram Desktop app (Telegram电脑版)for Windows, macOS, or Linux, you can save drafts even when your window is closed by pressing Ctrl+S. Pressing Ctrl+Enter or Ctrl+S again will hide the draft from the chats list – simply reopen it if you want to continue working on it later!

Dear friends

We’re delighted to announce that you can now edit and publish messages in Telegram without leaving the chat window. When you tap on a message and press Edit, an editing window appears where you can make changes to your message before sending it. This is especially useful when you realize that something has gone wrong with the way your message looks, or if someone sends you a typo-laden reply and it’s not clear what exactly they meant.

To edit your message, just tap at its beginning (or any other place), and then select Edit from the pop-up menu that appears above it. You’ll see an editing box appear with all of its text highlighted in blue (by default). To delete any characters or words from this temporary version of your draft, just swipe left across them—and when you finish making changes to it by pressing Done below or tapping outside of the current field (like on another chat line), Telegram will send this updated version out automatically!

If necessary for some reason (e.g., if there are still typos left untouched), just repeat these steps until everything looks correct enough for publication 🙂

Significant improvements in the way emails are published and edited

In this update, you’ll notice that the editing and publishing buttons are now located at the bottom of your message instead of on top. This should make it easier to use them in a group or channel where many messages are posted at once.

You can also now switch between your keyboard’s primary language and other languages you’ve added to Telegram using the ‘lang’ button in settings (available only for Android). For example, if you need to quickly translate from English into Russian when writing a message, just tap on this button to change over to Russian language input mode. The same goes for switching back to your primary keyboard layout once done with translation purposes!

The new feature is available in most languages and coming soon in others; it’s already available on official Telegram Desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux — so update yours today!

Today we are releasing this feature in most languages

We are happy to announce that today we are releasing this feature in most languages, but if it’s not out yet in yours, please be patient – it’s coming soon! The feature is available in most languages, but not all.

-It might be available to you already! If you’re reading this and want to know whether or not the feature has been released for your language, check the official Telegram Desktop (电报桌面版)website or open our app and look for a pop-up notification announcing its availability.

-If you don’t see an announcement from us yet but would like to test this new functionality anyway (e.g., because you speak one of the few remaining languages without it), then open [this link](https://telegram-desktop.com/download) on your computer and select any language except English (desktop).

Press CTR + enter and save the unsent message as a draft

You can also save a message as a draft by pressing Ctrl+Enter. This will hide your message from chats, calls, and group lists.

To see your saved drafts:

1 Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Saved Messages in the Telegram desktop app.

2 Use the search box at the top to find all your saved messages or filter them with filters below it, such as date range (last week/month/year), contacts, media files, and so on.

3 Tap on a message to view its details (such as time sent) or delete it altogether if need be.

So, to sum up

We hope you enjoy these improvements to the way you edit and publish messages. We’re looking forward to hearing your feedback on Telegram, so please let us know what you think!
